Vietnamese President Confident in Strong Ties with Cambodia

HANOI: During an official visit to Vietnam on the afternoon of December 11, Prime Hun Manet paid a courtesy call to Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.

During the meeting, the President of Vietnam congratulated the PM for being elected as the Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) over the weekend and said that he is confident in Prime Minister Hun Manet’s ability to lead the next generation towards even stronger development.

He also expressed his satisfaction with the official visit of the high-level delegation, which reflects the further strengthening of the Cambodian-Vietnamese bilateral relationship in the spirit of friendship and solidarity.

The PM mentioned that Vietnam is the first country in ASEAN he has paid an official visit to as Prime Minister to promote closer bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He informed the Vietnamese President about the fruitful results of his meeting with the Vietnamese Prime Minister, where they agreed to establish cooperation in the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam tourism deal, "Three Countries One Destination Package.”

The Vietnamese President praised the outcome of the talks between the two Prime Ministers and sent greetings to the King and Queen Mother of Cambodia, former Prime Minister Hun Sen, and other Cambodian leaders.
